Nethen - who are you shipping with?

We looked at it earlier this year (can't make September) but it was prohibitively expensive when we looked)

We'd love to Ride Down of course - but can't get that much time off.....

If you can find Henry's Cole DVD it's worth a look- The greatest motorcycle rides- you have great routes there in Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro.
Have a great trip.

Jajce was a great place. the waterfall is amazing, Tito's tunnels and the castle. Hotel in centre of town is very nice too. slightly off your path from Sarajevo, but some very good routes away from main roads to get there(some a bit rough). Sarajevo to Mostar road is OK, but you'll miss out on the more rural scenery of the smaller roads. Tonnes of traffic cops with speed guns on main routes too so take it easy! Overall a fantastic place, have a great time!

Your route looks like it might pass close to or through Visegrad - the famous "Bridge over the Drina" is there and well worth a look, built by the Ottomans between 1571 and 1577. I know you're going on to Gorazde but if you have the time check out the mountain road from Visegrad to Rogatica. On the other hand following the banks of the lovely emerald Drina would be great too.

Your trip sounds fantastic and is like one I would like to get around to someday!

Problem with riding there is that it takes time. And time is something not everyone has. I can only get a week or 2 off work at a time at present, so shipping gives me the flexibility to explore places I couldn't normally get to comfortably in my time frame.

For info, my Husky was shipped by Nethen1 last year and we toured / off road through Bulgaria, Macedonia, Albania and Kosovo....and it was ace.

And the same bike is currently sitting in a crate in a warehouse waiting to be shipped again next week! We fly out in 2 weeks. Plan is for a group of 4 to trail ride to the Black Sea coast and back again. Cant wait.

Can definitely recommend getting your bike shipped.

Watched that series. Very good and not without emotion.
"The trails of the world be countless, and most of the trails be tried.

You tread on the heels of many, till you come where the ways divide.

And one lies safe in the sunlight, and the other is dreary and wan, Yet you look aslant at the Lone Trail, and the Lone Trail lures you on....

....Bid good-bye to sweetheart, bid goodbye to friend, The Lone Trail, the Lone Trail, follow to the end.

Tarry not, and fear not, chosen of the true;

Lover of the Lone Trail, The Lone Trail waits for you"

We've chosen a rough tour route for our recce mission - 11 days - 10 nights
But we are open to suggestions as its some big miles and loads of options...

Samokov - Sofia - night one
Sofia - some where as yet to be decided between Sofia and Sarajevo - night 2
Sarajevo - night 3 - 4
Banja luka - night 5
Mostar - night 6
2 nights some where as yet to be decided between Mostar and Pristina - night 7 - 8
Pristina - night 9
Samokov - night 10
fly home day 11

Have we missed anything? Are we biting too much off in 10 days?

Cheers
Dave

Not meaning to be heavy or anything else, but isn't such recent history a bit on the sick side tourism wise?
