So i'm reading that as: Because my Region is "England" that means I've got to schlep up the M1/M6 to grab Scafell Pike?
Not the easiest mountain to actually photograph due to surrounding peaks and certainly not from a public road!
Or can I just pick the "region" I might be in at the time?
I'm off to Portugal at the end of the month to race in the Tour of Portugal , when a picture of my rally bike with Serra da Estrela in the background is entirely possible. (that's the highest peak in mainland Portugal by the way)
Actually if we go to the same places we went on last year's rally, I'm fairly certain I can grab a photo with the Portuguese/Spanish border in the far distance and there was a pretty impressive dam we rode past too

dave big sandbank at eccles on mersey should fit the bill, and it borders with salfordDave DRZ wrote:Is there a prize for the rider who covers most and least miles to catch all 26? I wondered whether I could tick all 26 off without leaving Greater Manchester... but then I remembered that Manchester has everything you need, except a beach!

You'll have a big problem with Mulhacen in Spain - at least on the maligned as the highest mountain in Spain is Tiede - so maybe go for the Peña de Francia, almost on the frontier with Portugal ...Mad Cow wrote:So i'm reading that as: Because my Region is "England" that means I've got to schlep up the M1/M6 to grab Scafell Pike?

Re: The A-Z Challenge
What is an acceptable distance to park your bike away from the object? As mentioned earlier Scafell Pike is quite a distance from a public road, is a picture with that (a couple of miles) in the background acceptable?

Holy cow, how do I manage the on-lin text correction: 'maligned' should read 'mainland' ...The Spanish Biker wrote:You'll have a big problem with Mulhacen in Spain - at least on the maligned as the highest mountain in Spain is Tiede - so maybe go for the Peña de Francia, almost on the frontier with Portugal ...
Meanwhile, how about an 'S' for selfie?

I seem to recall in Portugal last year we actually rode on tracks on Serra da Estrela (leading to wind turbines) and how close to a border do you have to be?
That's Spain in the background
And there's a dam in this picture, it's not that obvious despite being huge (it's directly above the top of the fairing but blends in perfectly with the rock)
