I was a bit miffed to receive an advert for a collapsible funnel in my email inbox yesterday.
It is the first one since I joined but I get enough junk mail as it is and i don't want it to be the thin end of the wedge.
Does switching off 'application notifications' in 'my profile' stop this? - weird words that don't make any sense to me.
if not, what does stop it?
Many thanks.
David

Just done so Alun.Alun wrote:David, Please could you send me a copy of the email to alun(at)adventurepublishing(dot)co(dot)uk thanks.
I don't take the magazine, only use the forum.
Many thanks

Re: Emailed adverts
Thanks for that David. I can confirm that that email has absolutely nothing to do with ABR or your membership of the forum. It refers to a product that was 'reviewed' in an issue of ABR.
I can confirm that we have never shared ABR subscriber or forum user details or email addresses. That's something we will never do.
I've just run a search on the company that emailed you and notice that they share common directors with an insurance company, you may find your answer there.

I didn't think ABR would send out info, particularly as this was the first time.
I will tell them what I think of them and ask them to desist.

Re: Emailed adverts
Situation resolved.
The ABR reference was a red herring and the email was from a company I had spoken to when looking for my 690 but a different 'address' so I didn't recognise it.
Give the guy all the credit, he actually rang me to apologise personally.
I might even go and buy one of his collapsible funnels now as they are only down Brighton way.
