You should bear in mind that just because someone doesn't give to one cause, that they don't give to another. I actually loathe the metaphorical tin-rattling that goes on. I give to charities I want to, and no others. They are all worthy in one way or another, it's not for anyone to moan about who gives what to whom, and how much.

Many thanks to John for all the hard work and Tim for the brilliant ride out--went smoothly and a brisk pace in the twisties--I was out cubed but managed to keep in touch! The pub was its usual accommodating self--especially the chefs and the the ladies serving--spot on breakfast both days.
Took me about 3 hours to get back to North of Peterborough--and it was progressively damp the further east I got--but gear unpacked, bike washed etc
On a different note on the way home and bimbling into Upton upon Severn I came up behind a group of cyclists that were taking up the whole road. I gave a toot(audible warning of approach), and pottered past. I couldn't believe the abuse I got as I went by and one of them deliberately steered towards me and tried to slap me--bloody dangerous!--silly old fart!- so I slowed up when I got past as by this time I was a little P**sed off. I had one cyclist come up on my inside and one on my OUTSIDE and start rattling on--I simply said that there was no need to block the whole road and then carried on to further abuse and with shouts of "read the highway code"--well actually its quite clear, and goes on about consideration for other road users, being aware of traffic approaching from behind, and not riding more than two abreast --and more to the point--riding in single file when in built up areas and when the road is NARROW. Further on my way to Tewkesbury I encountered several other groups of cyclists and they were all either in single file or riding close enough to let a motorcyclist or even a car past--no problems whatsoever. I seem to think that I caught them on a bad day--did anyone have an earlier "problem" with a group on the road through to Upton--and wind them up? I might add that I do also cycle a bit--but I'm not a MAMIL!!.

Unfortunately I'm unable to make West Wales this year but hopefully if there's a Midlands rally I'll see some of you there.
