I'm not into the biker lifestyle bit but I do think that in many ways I made a so called biker life choice and I enjoy it.

I'll see if I can find anything slightly more suitable for a bunch of middle aged pervs. It worries me enough when my wife shows me pictures my 29 year old daughter posts on facebook without encouraging you lot on here :pinch:
Re: Bikers? Are you one?
I'm not a bikermate type either but did enjoy the TT 4/5 time in my yoof. Went back to the Bol d'Or last year when it returned to Paul Ricard. The last time I was there was 1989 but In 2015 it was horrid - may be an age thing!johnnyboxer wrote:I am with youcaptinktm wrote:I was just reading about the "Bikers" in Leeds and thought after 53 years of riding, owning and living bikes I am not a biker! I never been to the Ace cafe in London, on several visits to the Isle of Man, I simply rode round the circuit and watch the racing, never once going to any of the "Biker" doo's in Douglas. I just ride .....alot. So is it me? Or are there other like minded people out there who I guess are .........um .......Riders?
Never been to IOM for TT - couldn't think of anything worse than being stuck on a small island with 1000's of bikers
I usually avoid the usual biker haunts in Yorkshire too
I much prefer the road less travelled, over the tops or down a quiet valley and a nice tea room with home made wholesome food, not some greasy crap at a biker cafe
I am a motorcyclist and NOT a biker
I'm definately not a biker but have been a motorcyclist for more than 30 years (quite a lot more if I'm honest).

Yeah, she's currently looking for a new boyfriend after telling the last one that she's got 2 kids under 10 so the last thing she wanted was a 30 year old one to go with them :laugh:Crossrutted wrote:daughter ?AndyB wrote:If you seriously think I'm going to post pictures of my wife from 25 or 30 years ago you're mistakenCrossrutted wrote:Me too-puzzled though as Andy is normally so fast to post..........ollydog wrote:me to looking forward to the picsPaulinBont wrote:"Sleazy biker chick, thigh boots": that made me sit up and take notice (thumbs)

Re: Bikers? Are you one?
My whole life revolves around bikes so yes I'm a biker and see nothing wrong in it and why on earth would anyone dislike being called one? Any negative connotations are in your own mind, if you allow them to be negative.
Oh and the Leeds incident was not bikers, in my mine they are yobs or chavs on stolen bikes.....

Re: Bikers? Are you one?
To be a biker do you have to attend rallies and meets and "talk the talk"? Or just enjoy riding bikes?
I don't attend meets and honestly don't know a great deal about bikes technically (other than it's best to keep the rubber rings on the tarmac) but yes I think of myself as a biker and assume those who know me do too.

My stupid son showed some of his work colleagues (he worked for me at the time) pictures of his elder sister and one of them thought it would be funny to 'friend' her on facebook then show pictures of her to everyone else at work. It took the threat of unfair dismissal and potential accidents at work to make him see the light and 'unfriend' her. He was lucky really because she was so pissed off she wanted to practice water boarding on him before feeding him to pigs :pinch:
