Well it's a dirt tyre. But realistically how often are you going to exceed 81 mph? or hold 81mph on the road for a time?

If you want to ride fast for a sustained period the E09 rear would be ok, and a stiff front, but youre compromising offroad grip.

Maxis IT after 126 miles, on road, loaded, pushing it a bit! 80 ish. Then MT21 done same on way home, but not quite as bad. May be a rim issue? It was on a excel rim, not std Ktm ones. Tyre may of expanded, swollen out of shape and touched the swing arm? It did wear through shock mud guard. At cold there was a good 40mm of clearance. Any body had same issues?

Blimey spooky, you are lucky that didn't blow out at 80 on the road! Looks like it's mostly in the centre, are you sure it's not catching on something underneath the seat or something? How old is the tyre?

Also, you say its done on 126 miles on the road. that being the case why is it muddy? Something is awry with the facts here, they are very reliable tyres.

This set was fitted brand new to excel rims for Taffy Dakar ( they went there in a van) done the weekend, mostly off road, no damage, bit of light wear but nothing un expected, not used since as 690 had a set of scorpion AT on for the road, on another set of rims. Changed the wheels back to ride to Midlands abr rally in Cherwell. All fast dual carriage way and motorway doing around 80 sometimes a bit faster but only for a very short period, sometimes slower. No problem or ill affects until I dropped off the motorway at cherwell, felt a bit wobbly, stopped at site entrance and noticed the damage, the photo was taken after another trip at low speed (30 -35 miles) to primier bikes in Didcot to have a new Perelli MT 21 fitted ( R rated). The mud came from one slow lap of the enduro circuit at ABR camp site.
Pressure may be an issue, not under, but may have been over, Ktm manual says 26 for road, but in hindsight this was probably a bit much for this sort of tyre I guess. Someone else on forum warns against over inflating these......rips middle blocks out apparently ...! So that may have been the cause, along with a hot day, loaded bike, and over use of twisty thing!

Spoky....

Drop pressure on road to 22 max....my ccm is 160kg loaded and has nonprobs...a few have reported your issue with around 25psi rears...dropped pressure and it helped lots...

As mike54 said tough tyres...
