Putting diesel in your bike

Up at my local bike repair shop today getting a new tube fitted in the 660Ten after pulling a 5 cm steel pin out of the tyre and he had just finished flushing diesel out of a bike.
It had carbs fitted (probably just as well) he had just got it running again, some smoke.

Surely this must be pretty unusual?

What sort of plonker does that :whistle:
I realised l'd started to fill my Tiger 1050 with diesel a few years ago but fortunately l stopped & a mate of mine came down with a bit of plastic pipe & all was good!!
I've also put petrol in my diesel car

Cannot believe anyone would put diesel :woohoo: (the fuel of the devil) in a motor bike. :whistle: :whistle:
However, 2 ltrs of diesel in the 1200RT totally by accident in Switzerland :whistle: then filled up with 98 approx 20lts the proper stuff, and the bike ran well during the trip in the Alps.
Accidents happen especially when you have two diesel cars!! Never done it since.

mmm I don't know if I have the guts to say this but,I place 50 liters of add blue to my 4X4 MAN truck by mistake and cost me £1600 to put it right lol

That's a coincidence. I had a diesel nozzle in my tank this morning, realised just in time (thumbs)

I heard of someone doing this and then running the engine as normal (FJ1100 I thinm) . The pistons cracked under the rings...

We have diesel cars and I've done it, a couple of litres of diesel and realised my mistake, brimmed it with petrol but it didn't seem right so our it all came, kept the mower going for 2 seasons!
