I am thinking about getting Magura hydraulic clutch for my xt660z as a last chance for this bike. I read good things about Magura as well as about hydraulic clutches. Most importantly for me the pull supposed to stay constant, regardless of clutch plates getting hot or cold. Should be a little be lighter on hand too. Anybody here has experience with such conversions for any bike and can tell about the results?
thanks
what do you think about hydraulic clutch conversion?
Re: what do you think about hydraulic clutch conversion?
Why don't you get a moose racing easy pull clutch or just extend the clutch arm. (thumbs)

yeah, but the main gain I am after is constant pull, regardless of clutch plates state. Hot or cold.CRAIGREVO wrote:Why don't you get a moose racing easy pull clutch or just extend the clutch arm. (thumbs)

Re: what do you think about hydraulic clutch conversion?
if the clutch is getting that hot that often to cause fade to the handlebars there is somthing wrong with the clutch that is not normal or anywhere near it the teneres clutch is pretty strong ..its not normal if the clutch is overheating a hydraulc system is not going to stop it doing so ..at least if you get fade on the lever you are getting a warning to heed
id say get the clutch checked out as this should not be happening
i had over 40k on mine and fade on the clutch was not a problem ?
if your finding you use the clutch too much off road drop a 14 tooth on it makes a big difference

agree with minky, nothing normally wrong with the xt clutch, as good as any, had 2 teneres, never a problem, I use the clutch a lot off road and its fine, I think fitting the hydraulic system will offer no gain, a clutch overhaul would be the solution to your problem, I have short leavers on mine and it's fine, good luck (thumbs)minkyhead wrote:if the clutch is getting that hot that often to cause fade to the handlebars there is somthing wrong with the clutch that is not normal or anywhere near it the teneres clutch is pretty strong ..its not normal if the clutch is overheating a hydraulc system is not going to stop it doing so ..at least if you get fade on the lever you are getting a warning to heed
