RD 350 LC

Bought this yesterday:-

I'm not sure what to do with it!

It runs well and it's bog standard, but do I give it a fettle, wrap it up and store it in the back of the garage and forget about it for a few years, or pass it on for a quick profit and let someone else enjoy it? What's the opinion of the forum?

Ive got a few, two 250 lc's and a two 350 ypvs and a few other smokers, did you get it at a good price, if so hang onto it, if its nice original state leave it as is, maybe tidy it up a little paint the cans, and go through it, I fancy a 350lc myself..

if you do decide to sell let me know what you want for it, I might be interested

having looked at the pictures a bit it does look like it needs going through, wheels and the bright work, and brake calipers, still a nice bike

I used to proddy race them.in early 80,s..fit new silencers and new reed valves and open the stops and change airfilter then smoot the ports...had 150 mph on clock of my old one..very narrow power band but arm wrenching...

I've never really been a two-stroke fan though, I had a couple of TDR 250s, which were fantastic, but it's not me.

Had a "blinkin 'eck" moment when I realised it was 34 years old!

If you're painting the cans, only use Wurth HiTemp satin black exhaust paint

Perfect match for original finish (nothing else is and pj1 certainly isn't)

Available from YamBits as is a lot of LC stuff if you hadn't heard of them

Taking the seals out of the wheel bearings was good for an extra 1 or 2 mph on a long straight because the inner races ran a lot more freely but that didn't last long before they tightened up. Anyone lucky enough to work in engineering and be able to get bearings ordered free of charge could wash the grease out, give them a few drops of 3 in 1 oil then race on them changing them every meeting.
