Triumph Tiger 885 1996 Carb model - Tyre Choice

Post by Kernow BlueTig »

Good afternoon,
Having decided to MOT the old Tig, I find I'll need new tyres first...I got on really well with the Michelin T66s, but no longer available.
Hardly ever go off road with her, but dont want to fit road tyres..I like the look of say, the Conti TKC 70...
Any advice gratefully received from current old Tiger riders...

Michelin Anakee 3???

Regards Tony

anakee 3 is a cracking tyre (thumbs) on my 955 I have TKC 70's at the moment a very good tyre also, a little bit more off road friendly than the 3 I think

cheers Spud ;)

Annakee 3 yet again. 10,000 miles and superb road holding, plus they are cheaper than some others. Can't argue with that! (thumbs)

I had Anakee 2 on my previous Tigers - 885, 900 and 955. Now Anakee 3 on my 800. I think you can still get the Anakee 2 if you look well enough (thumbs)

I like the bog std Tourance. Never had an issue with them. Dependable in all conditions, except off rd! I think you could put any tyre on a 'steamer'..it's that kind of bike! ;)
