Just watched it on the iPlayer. What a life he had and a deserving subject of a documentary. I particularly liked some of the old footage; blokes in lab jackets gathering around the business end of a jet engine during testing. No hi-viz jacket in sight!! An era when men were men and they just got on with it. The concept of 'metro-sexual' hadn't been born!
