Compared to the weather here and Ireland, I am bound to!

Big Sis (the one in Kinvarra) is off this weekend for a fortnight to help out on Lesbos with the Refugees as they come on shore, and although the weather there is hardly balmy, after a Winter in the west of Ireland, it can't be worse I reckon!

Tenerife was my last Canary. Without doubt I had saved the best till last for jumping around on a bike. It's bloody fantastic. Has a bit of everything. Roads and terrain ... and climate. Michelin map is best. Nearly all "green" routes. Pretty much empty roads too away from the resorts.

Was two up on a f650. (Versus had a baldy back tyre.) Cantered it. Only had it for 3 or 4 days and only got about half of the island done.

If you look out your window and the mountain looks cloudy...don't be put off! The cloud is just like a big donut round it. Break on through in to clear blue sky and amazing views up there. A different world.

Lucky for you I'm on my phone so no photo spoilers from me!

How odd - i was thinking about this topic this afternoon as I was half looking at a TV show about a cycle event in Gran Canaria. The roads and scenery were stunning, especially one course that went form sea level to the top of the Pico de las Nieves (peak of the snows) 0 - 1,949 metres in one hit - those cyclists are barking!

We've just booked to go back to Tenerife in March. We are going to the same place we went to in Novemeber, Los Gigantes. Lovely place.
I might try and persuade the missus to hire a bike for the day and go for a ride up Teidi.
