Post by Ian S »

hi, i have just fitted some givi engine bars to my 2004 GS, they fit to the lower engine frame mount at the bottom of the engine, anyone any idea on torques ?? they are T55 headed and about 4 1/2" long.

The ones below cylinders ? are 55nm (originally the size would have been M12 x 50 before bars fitted)

Can of worms time...

The torque settings will change if you intend using anti seize paste or fitting them dry. I'd just go for a couple of grunts and be done with it

Being serious though; the head size is totally irrelevant, what you need to be looking up is the thread size, the grade of bolt and the material you're nailing it into. Everything is out there if you use Google but the head and length of bolt don't count.
