France Topo maps for Garmin
Re: France Topo maps for Garmin
Looks like thats based on the ign map which is what the topo garmin is....
I zoom into 500ft same as.in uk on trails...some areas.have more trails than others marked ....
Try ioffer for cheap garmin topo maps..france v3 has more colour lol...they arent road routable just tracks...so i use citynavigator for roads...
Fuel in most big villages...i manage on a 13ltr tank...

Just checkes the web site and looked at a area i know the trails aew markes on topo maps and they are same on yours...brown dotted lines or grey ones. Think the grey are narrower footpaths....

The topo maps have height lines like os maps which are real usefull in mountain vallwys so you can see the cliffs and steep gradiants..

Re: France Topo maps for Garmin
Sorry Russ, I have to disagree with some of your info.
Chemins are either narrow single black line or double dotted (= = = =)although some may have lines (1,2 or 3)crossing through them. Don't get them confused with power lines though, thin solid black line with single thin line through them
Single dotted are normally footpaths.
Have a look here http://www.geoportail.gouv.fr/donnee/51 ... malink=yes
you may have to select "cartes ign" on the left hand side.
