I had noticed the powder coat, just figured it was my lucky day  This is also a rushed rebuild but might take it apart again once in back from the lakes if there's anything I'm not happy with, but ATM its pretty good. The head bearings and the mono shock link bearings literally fell apart when the guy I got it off stripped it down though but apart from that its all standard stuff.

I don't suppose you've got any more info on the new engine he used have you?

Dommies are making a major comeback and their prices are going up.

Just like the Africa Twins.

Hopefully people are finally realising the benefits of simple, reliable bikes with plenty of charactor instead of all these super expensive, over-technical, over electrical DULL modern bikes being churned out.

Check out this stunner on ebay.

I did notice the price of them had gone up a little in the last couple of years, not a massive surprise really as a lot of people who do the adventure riding thing and overland travel do want something simple and easy to work on, I got it because it was simple and easy to work on, and because it was dirty cheap because it was in bits, suits me as the first thing I would've done is strip it down anyway

If I sell it straight after my trip I should make a few hundred quid, but I don't think I will, if I like the handling then in put some more time into a proper build, it would look sexy as hell with a rally fairing (thumbs)

Anyway, calipers are all sorted apart from one stuck bleed nipple that I'll get out later, the rear line is on the way and I've got an mot booked for next Wednesday, just hoping my bearings for the mono shock link turn up before then, then its farkle time to get me ready to roll for the trip B)

Good luck with the project (thumbs)

I picked up an 02 Dominator a couple of weeks ago ... it needs a little TLC asthetically - but I love the bike already (thumbs)

Both calipers are mounted, just waiting for the new line for the rear and I'll bleed them both at the same time.

Currently playing the fairing jigsaw game, its nearly all on :woohoo:

I do have some bits I'm looking at thinking where do they go but they dint look that important

I'd never actually seen one in the flesh and the pictures make the fairing look fugly but its growing on me, need a Perspex screen making to bring it higher though.

Put it on centre stand, engage gear, put wire brush in right hand, and slowly move hand and brush towards said disc.
Allow a bit of time with wire brush touching disc.
All should be ok now to move hand and brush away from disc.

Dose it look nice and clean? If yes MOT will be ok, If no, get another disc. Simples.

Cheers Dave.

But a sheet of polycarbonate 3mm and make the screen
And now, Harry, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.
