PM Notifications: fao Bryn/web administrator

Hi Bryn,

I had a PM sitting in my in-tray for a while and didn't know that it was there

Can you make the 'Messages' link turn green when someone has a PM?

On another forum, you'd be notified by : 'Messages (1)' etc so it can't be that difficult to do.

I think this is how to get an e-mail if you get a PM:

In the tabs at the near the top select:

Profile, then
Edit profile, then
Privacy, then
Tick the "receive system e-mails"

Though it would be helpful not to have your e-mail account open just to see who's pm'd you.

My profile already is set to receive emails and I don't know when I've got a pm. :unsure:

I have my settings set as above and don't get notifications either.

I've had those settings ticked ever since I joined. I've never received any kind of notification of a pm.

I notice that my PM notifications are no longer being received by email. I only get one or so PM a week and it appears to be for about 2 weeks now. Around the time that the Website was moved/fixed etc. Coincidence?

All the settings in my profile are correct and I've checked Spam etc.

Well after the forum outage again this morning I have just received a dozen or so e-mail notifications of PMs. Maybe it's been fixed.
