Ed, here's the best advice I can offer; strike the UK off your must visit list.but i dont like riding in traffic in the rain. either one is bad by itself.

I tend to park the bike up when the leaf litter gets quite bad around here about end of October then get her back out once the roads clear up again about the end of December.
