Perfect summary of ownership there matey. I too have a 2009 GS and really wouldn't change it for anything newer.
Apart from a bulb, I have only had to replace tyres and brake pads. 21,000 miles now and I know at some point I'll be faced with a rear drive refurb but I'm confident that doesn't have to cost the earth now thanks to the skills of MikeyBoy.
Like you, my bike takes me everywhere in any weather.
