Tyres for f800gs

Post by Ngeustyn »

Any advise on which tyres to get.
Currently on the scorpions but thinking of the following contenders:

1) anakee 2
2) anakee 3
3) tourance

Any thoughts

Used Anakee 2's for 20k miles and they were fine, can't obtain them anymore though as they have been replaced by the 3, which is fine, more road biased but apparently as good off road as the 2's. Turn in well once scrubbed in and very confidence-inspiring

What's wrong with the Scorpions apart from them being heavily biased towards road use?

I use them on my 1200 Multistrada and even though I've heard other complain about them I've never had any problems and even though I'll be replacing them with PR3s that's only because in 8k miles the only time it's been off road was to do the Stella so I might as well go for a proper road tyre.

No problem to date but they need replacement soon.
Planning on doing a bit more light dirt in Donegal later this year but 90% road use most of the time.

just brought some anakee 3s 9 days ago for a trip to france . just got back n they were so confidence inspiring in the rain and totally freekin amazing in the dry. I was in the same boat as you n I made the right choice. n if you don't like them which i'm sure you will. go out moor n wear them out.so you can buy a different pair.
