Germany: Looking for good roads, places to visit and stay

Post by RobK »

Hi
I am going to Bad Salzuflen for a weeks work at the end of this month (June) and decided to ride there from Calais. I don't really want to ride direct on the motorways as I have a weekend to get there and a weekend to get back.
Does anyone know of a good place to stay on the Sat night and recommend some good roads and places to visit?
Thanks

Thanks moto al, looks great. (thumbs)
Do you think I should book accommodation or just turn up and try to find somewhere in Monschau?
Thanks.

a few weeks ago, I got off the ferry at Zeebrugge and just meandered through Belgium to Dusseldorf, its a nice ride if you stay off the m/ways,

or as Al says, head for Aachen, then possibly Cologne, then head through the Bergischland, Wipperfurth, head for Arnsberg (very near the Dambuster dams) you cant go wrong really

I use booking.com app... wait till about tea time, then type in a place nearby for a list of hotels......
