KTM 990 Adventure S

Post by mcousen »

KTM 990 Adventure S
2006 Reg. 52000Miles.
£4000
Ive owned this bike for 18 months. Ive ridden the bike to Morocco and to the Alps. Also done green laning and a couple of the Rallymoto big bike rallys.
It is the S model which has 1 inch additional ground clearance to the other models.
Bike is ready for the big trip. All the modifications needed for rough roads have been made. It is a great bike. If I could keep two bikes Id keep it. Below are all the modifications made

£200 Adventure Spec Sump Guard – Far sturdier than OEM part also contains a section for holding tools.
£50 Adventure Parts Rear Rack - http://www.adventureparts.co.uk/ADV-RAK ... -Adventure Larger than OEM part which is needed for strapping soft luggage to it.
Rear Pannier Frame
KTM Gel Seat – Supposed to be lower than original and more comfortable. Original Seat is also available
£1000 Akrapovic Exhaust. Massive weight saving over OEM part and fantastic sound. Original Exhaust also included.
Side Stand – Larger Foot – Camel Toe. Stops the side stand sinking when you are on a soft surface.
High Front Mud Guard Conversion. The original part is not suitable for off road use. Although it is better than other bikes, it can still get clogged with mud preventing the front wheel from turning. This was why I replaced it. The original part is not available.
Regularly serviced. By KTM until 1 year ago, now by me. Last serviced 100 miles and 4 weeks ago.
Rally Raid Front Tyre
Dunlop D908 Rear Tyre
Only two outings with the tyres
Im selling as I now have a 640 Adventure to do harder off road rallys.

Bad side is the bike has been used off road, and the body work is scratched or marked in places. It is not in immaculate condition as reflects it being used for offroad biking and two rallys. There is a small ding in the front wheel rim. Has not effected steering. The tyres fitted to it are the best for off road. But if you want to use predominantly on road you will want to change them.
