3ltrs fuel or water never had to use them though on a F650 GS Dakar

Nice farkles people!
Just a couple of points on the brake snakes; they're not just designed to prevent it bending back in a drop, but also to cut through roots/branches/berm walls that you 'run aground' on, to prevent these things catching the brake (even whilst you've still managed to keep it shiny-side up). You're usually better off mounting the other end to an engine bolt or something else that doesn't need to come off the bike very often. You may find it's irritating if you have a bashplate that needs to come off for an oil change, etc.
