The price sounds feasible but 300 to 350 miles a day on back roads is a big ask, day in day out. At that pace you would be looking at constant riding for eight hours plus a day without any stops to look at things on the way. You could save a fortune by just riding from Lands End to John O'Groats and back a dozen times, you'd see as much of American as you would on this trip.

sorry mate but wot a load of bollocks, 350 a day is good for most, and theres designated stops for photos, and taking it all in, it would be pointless otherwise. u gotta remember ur riding with nick sanders, its about touring long distance.

Spasm, don't post a question if you don't want somebody to disagree with you. Perhaps when you've been some places and done a bit of touring yourself you'll realise racking up miles isn't what touring is about.

Value for money looks very good - I used to ship cars back and forwards from Newark and customs clearance can sometimes be a pain, so to let them do it all is less of a strain. 3 weeks to do a circle of the usa is not enough to appreciate it. 3 months would be much more enjoyable.

Looks good,

But in a group of 21? Too much for me that.

I don't see a problem with it. As long as you're happy doing 350 miles/day and are happy to be led by someone who wants to get the miles done rather than take long stops and sit scoffing gourmet lunches it'll be one hell of an experience.

If you're getting out of your pit at 7am and ready to leave at 8am 350 miles is sod all as long as everyone is singing from the same hymn book. Averaging 50mph is simple if you keep the fuel stops down to a max of 15 minutes including filling up, having any food and drink you want and away you go again. The key thing you have to remember is that time spent messing about in the day is time added on at the end and I'd always sooner crack on then be stopping earlier than take it steady and stopping later.

Having said that I'd still be a bit worried about my schedule being dictated by the laziest member of the group so would sooner go on my own and set my on pace.

Go for the $50 Wallmart Garmin GPS & route 66 is your oyster Ye-Ha

Big daily mileages are easy in the states.
Even the backwater roads are straight & empty by UK comparisons.
Speed limits can be a catch up problem.
Definately wouldn't fancy that size of a journey with 20 other unknown riders.

4 likeminded souls & some pre planning would be less tedious not so stressful & about 25% cheaper.
Even if your a USA virgin it's an easy country to get on with for Brits. & you'll find you're most welcome everywhere.
Grubs good & cheap & Motels are easy to get into for small groups.

Do it yourself & gain the added sense of achievement it can bring.
Lightness is everything.

Lightness with Grunt is a Scratcher!

If you want to do something with others who have the experience then this would fit that, but if you want an 'organised' trip I doubt it would.

I've met him, and while he is very engaging to listen to, he's as mad as a box of frogs. I don't see organisational skills being high on the list, but max-adventure and unpredictability will almost certainly feature.
