22nd February 2011
No.10 Peak District National Park
Upper Derwent Visitor Centre
Fairholmes Bamford Hope Valley
S33 0AQ.
Decided to get my ABR Nature Rally christened with a nice bimble up to the Derwent.
Weather was around 10 degrees with dry roads and good visability on setting of from Stockport along Buxton Road.
Went via Glossop, temperature droping a degree or two as I ascend but no problems. Its good to breath in all this beautifull scenery once again. :woohoo:
Join the Snake Road, enjoy the clear roads and relaxed riding conditions. Temperature bottoms out at around 4 degrees over the top with low cloud cover and mist persisting, patches of snow ice litters the landscape and I decide to engage my heated grips. Stop at the "Nether Regions" for a cup of char and a moments contemplation whilst watching the melt water pass beneath me. All to soon I arrive at the Derwent and admire the still and tranquill scene. B) Then to the real business and reason for being here at the Derwent.... validating my ABR Rally Card by the local official....
Upon leaving, I was set upon by the "Official's" gaggle of friends, and I wasn't allowed to leave untill they had compared "beaks"...... ba-dum-cha.
only 19 more to go.......:pinch:

17th March 2011
No.20 Sherwood Forest
Edwinstowe Mansfield
Nottinghamshire NG21 9HN.
Picked a nice day to become an outlaw........ B)
Set off to tackle my 2nd ABR Nature Rally.
Left from Stockport heading towards Sherwood in glorious March sunshine, around 12 degrees and clear.Shades were appropriately donned.
Nice clear roads all the way and amazing scenery en route.
Stop for a cuppa somewhere outside Bakewell........
After a short bimble of around 100 clicks arrive at destination......
I sit down for a smoke and contemplate the reason why some grown men beat each other with large sticks.......
Head for home after a short walk and fresh air around the nature trail.........
Only 18 more to go......... :pinch:
