newbie here but not new to biking
got 2 bikes
derbi terra adventure 125 and a pioneer nevada 125 cruiser.
been biking now for 20 years and still on L plates :woohoo: and if you wonder why i havent done my test yet, well why spend some £400 to £500 on a DAS when i can make better use of that money going to rallies and party like theres no tomorrow ;) plus theres no motorways around here and i can do 70 on dual carriageways :P
If it doesnt have dirt on it, its because you're not riding it hard enough

Hi over here Rick, I'm like you, sticking with my 125cc, and my L's for now. Maybe see you at a meet and definitely at the Ace.

Fairplay,

Maybe I should have tried a Derbi, I'm mucho looking forward to scrapping my 125 and and trying a 250. A2 starts tomorrow, I must admit the cost of the training and test is absurd though...
And now, Harry, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.

as im not one for speeds this bike suits me just fine, the top speed i had out of her was 74mph and thats with me weighing a heafty 20st on a dual carriageway.
what sort of 250 you have in mind?

Hey Rick,

Jeez, I'm 12st and my DR125 after much fettling still only does 56MPH..

I'm looking at the CRF250L. Although if the ALP Beta 4.0 is any good and a similar price I might go for that instead.

Today was cold but awesome, I have picked up some really bad habits in the last year and my trainer was ace. The power of the Suzuki GS500 was initially terrifying and impossible to control on the slow sections and then intoxicating in the fast bits. Seven hours in the saddle at 0degrees was hard work but I am already looking forward to tomorrow.
And now, Harry, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.
