Well, the follow up to this one, thanks for all comments guys, I don't work for the Scottish tourist board, but the place really sells itself!
I went ahead with my plan for today, texted SteveT but got the phonecall at 10.20 "the old Transalp has stopped running! You'll have to go without me."
Never mind, I promised Fiona lunch in Ullapool so off we went. We had a lovely run up to Falls of Shin and across to Ullapool the north route. The fish and chips were gorgeous as ever! The weather held out for us the whole day and 230 miles of the best roads in Gods country.
