Custom Earplugs

I probably use earplugs about 50% of the time I'm out riding, and more especially for longer rides. They definitely make a difference but I've never felt I'm getting the full effect as I can't seam to get them lodged deep enough into the ear and when I take my helmet off they invariably drop out.

I'm comparing this to the missus who wears them at bedtime (for some strange reason) and when we're out on the bike and she can lodge them firmly and with good effect. It's not a wax problem, more probably due to the shape of my inner ear. I've been thinking about buying custom plugs for a while, but are they better than the standard supermarket/chemist versions?
