I use a tool tube for some basic tools, puncture repair kit and a pump. Also an Otter Box for some first aid stuff...
Tool tube/box. Recommend me one please.

Re: Tool tube/box. Recommend me one please.
ive had these on about 18 months ...
i even use them to support my panniers ...
what illike most is the mounting points they are easy to adapt a bracket to but they are strong ...they dont suffer from stress fractures and the like ...they have been pounded from piller to post and stay put with no bother
with the tools inside and supporting a full pannier ..you can imagine there is some stress on bouncy trails ..im well happy with them
a tip .. halford wheel cente trim thingys fit perfect on the ends if you want to get rid of the manual painting ..again they stuck on and stayed stuck so if your vain ..they are good for 4 quid a pair

Made mine from 110mm soil waste pipe, with screw on ends. Cost me £2.65 (I live next door to a plumber!) making it involves some cutting and drilling, so should only be done with supervision by a competent adult. Unable to find one, I carried on anyway! has been totally waterproof and useful. It is visible in my picture (but not on the older adventure bike)fitted to the left side pannier rails.
