Right - please count me in. I've done the BMW off-road beginners course a couple of years ago. Since then I've done a couple of days rough-road riding but thats all. I'lll be on a 800GS (crash bars, sump guard and TKC80s).Tramp wrote:I`m sure we have room for more..![]()
as some always drop out nearer the time and with two groups we can change the route to suit what people feel is okay by them.
If I say 8 max per group so as not to create a wagon train:ohmy:hmy: .
Mr Freemarket- hope you dont think Ive ambused the thread just trying to help out as we do on here![]()

There is something about life and dress rehearsal that I need to remember ...

Good on you all for thinking about popping yer cherries. You will love it. Trail fever will soon be taking over.
I cant make it, on a family holiday end July, otherwise I would have enjoyed the rideout.
So have fun....and remember lots of photos.
Here's some tips......
1) Find the person who looks the most unstable (when I go riding its normally AckAckFlack!!!   ). Keep your camera close to hand and ride behind them. When they go down, try and hold the laughter back and get that camera out. Then, and only once you have taken a photo, park your bike safely and slowly walk over. By that time....(unless they are AckAckFlack..he just stands there waiting for help) they should have already picked their own bike up saving you the effort.
2) Once the "wobbler" has been identified ride in front of them and drag them to a nervous speed. Then keep an eye in your mirrors for the impending crash.
3) Again, ride infront. Try and build up a decent distance infront. Then after you have gone up / through / over technical bit. Park up, get the camera out and find a suitable spot for the impending fall.
Enjoy.

Tramp - no worries mate, by the looks of it, its all hands to the pumps. I have this terrible feeling that I might have created a bit of a monster!
When I have some time this evening I put my thinking hat on & sort out a bit of admin but it looks as though it will be a ‘goer’: Excellent

Over a long enough timeline, everyones survival rate drops to zero

just dont get too technical and go mad, remember this started out as a giggly schoolgirl bimble across the plain on a few easy gravel tracks, with maybe a game of tank chicken thrown in!

It would be good if you could find a quite area to practice some slow speed manoeuvres like figure eights and back brake slides.

hi all...
how about we split into 3 groups ..
Pj with the big bikes and those that feel less confident or "chicken ass"
me and orlando take out the more confident guys and those seeking a Adventure while keeping it simple and breaking the trails in gentle like from Gravel to grass to ruts ..
I`ll speak to Orlando in june and see Pj in July at the Boil that way we could cope with upto 24 riders in total going in different directions so as not to create chaos all at once :woohoo: :woohoo: .
The plain has all the right mix for beginers and experts alike with lots of different surfaces..and just cause its gravel it can still have bad gradiants and 2" deep sections with huge pot holes so its keep eyes peeled and dont follow the person in fronts tracks..side by side is safer.
The aim of the day is to have some SAFE fun and come back for more lunacy another day..
