Just a few pointers about camping and the site.

1. Unpacked the tent that has not been out for a while - how to get rid of slight smell?
EAT LOTS OF CURRY

2. How to get rid of the smell of plastic taste/smell with a new water bag?
EAT LOTS OF CURRY

3. How to get rid of metal smell/taste in a metal small camping kettle?
EAT LOTS OF CURRY

4. Is the 'Takoda camp site' softish ground or do I need re-inforced pegs?
EAT LOTS OF CURRY sorry. the site is lovely soft sandy soil and sheltered.

Looking forwards to seeing you all there, do we book any ride outs when we get there. I am likely to get there about midday on the Friday.

Cheers

Which reminds me; do bring a side stand puck as the ground is soft. I had to jealously guard a used squashed dog food tin for this reason last year :)

Camping.

Main field can be soft near the river, and muddy thru the main gate (a few tumbles there last year). Those noisy lot at the bottom eventually turned the radio off at about 3am.

Left thru entrance is busy, its near the road but a bit firmer.

TAKE A SIDE STAND PAD AND KEEP IT HANDY FOR ARRIVAL.

Jimbo's road ride was GREAT, despite the fact I lost them all at the gate as I was filming , and with no idea where they went, eventually came across the parade going in the opposite direction, somewhere near Windemere. (the best bits I did),.

Have fun, eat curry and drink your choice of fuel.....

Should I bring my Ukulele ??????

A friend of mine has this solution:
1. put a can of cider* in tank bag
2. on arrival at campsite, drink cider* asap
3. squash can and drop next to side stand
4. balance bike on squashed can
5. get off bike
* replace cider with drink of preference (preferably a non-fizzy type as these are prone to explode after a ride out  )
