My weekend ride up started with me and Mike meeting up with Pete R2M and then travelled up to meet Steve at Clitheroe
Steve led a fantastic route over Trough of Bowland finishing up at Kirkby Lonsdale for a brew then a fast thrash to Kirby Stephen. Despite the weather forecast we had a dry and mostly sunny ride all the way
Great curry and too many beers! Good craic and nice to meet some new faces as well as existing ones
Saturday's mission whatever the weather was going to be all the lakes passes
I've seen manyof these from mountain bike trails and always wanted to do them on a motorbike. Have done a few of them
Me, AfricaJim and Outrunner left about 1hr after the pipe and slippers crew went
Nice slidey start going up the back lane on wet tarmac and cold knobbly tyres
Commuted over A66 to Braithwaite and started with Whinlatter pass
Then down to Buttermere in the heavy rain so no pics of that but we were rewarded with the nice ride up Honister pass
Great weekend and some pics

From there we travelled down the other side and towards Borrowdale we did a detour up to surprise view and met up with the Pipe & Slipper crew that were just about to leave as we got there
The look over the lake from the viewpoint
And a picture at Ashness Bridge on the way down

Re: Great weekend and some pics
After Keswick we headed down to Grasmere and took a small single track over to Chapel Stile and then the pass over Great Langdale to join up with Wrynose pass and then Hardknott pass. After Eskdale we had a great visibility thrash down to Ulpha followed by a nice fast ride to Coniston as the sun was coming out and then onto Ambleside finishing off with the cut through up to Kirkstone pass
Last commute home in the sun and then a nice blast along that back lane past Warcop to the campsite - had the AT airborne a few times on that run
Back home at 5pm, 6hrs after we left, 180 miles of fun, fun, fun! Great riding lads
Nice tea with Hudders, Jim, Fiona, Bonniebird and Homer
Nice chilled weekend, nice to meet some other ABRs
Thanks to Paul and Maria
Till next time peeps
