ABR Chilterns Chill Out Weekend March 22nd to 25th 2012

Post by GOG 007 »

This is the camp site and it has been booked http://www.townfarmcamping.co.uk/home 10 quids a night, and camp fires are allowed in one of their fire pits. Located right in the heart of the Chiltern Hills, near Ivinghoe Beacon.

Hospital - Luton & Dunstable 5 miles away
Pub - Ivinghoe about a mile away
Local shops - Invinghoe & Pitstone
Supermarket - Tescos, Waitrose & Morrisons Leighton Buzzard about 3 miles away.

Road Ride Out - Route up soon

Off Road Ride Out - THIS IS NOW FULL UP unless we can get another experienced ride to lead a group. Russ (Tramp) Mad Cow (Tony) Ollie and Matt are now leading the off road ride outs. Due to numbers and varying abilities there will be four groups, a 'Mud Pluggers Extreme' one, a 'I have done a bit and consider myself quite confident' one, a 'Not done a lot but prepared to give it another go' group, and a 'I have never been off road in my life and am prepared to fall off and hurt myself' :cheer: group. We will sort out who is going with who at the briefing.

Food - Bring your own, pub near by, or I am supplying a Chilli/Jacket Potato/French Bread for a fiver a head (just to cover costs)Saturday Only, Nev is bring his BBQ if you wanna chuck a burger/banger on the fire ?

Fire Pit - the camp site are providing a Fire Pit and wood for our use, just need a donation for the wood and rent - I'll have a word with the camp site owners to see if they will throw this in ?

Next of Kin (NoK) and emergency (ICE) contact details will need to be provided, please either PM me or let me know on the day of arrival.

We now have 53 repreobates down on the list, and there is room for more. So here's to a good weekend of 'Friendship through fun and adventure on 2 wheels'. (Yeah I know a bit cheesey, but WTF !)

Road Ride Out - I have a route in mind that will take us up to Dunstable Downs, with great views over the Vale, on to Whipsnade, Thame, Bicester, Buckingham. I will post the route once I have an idea of numbers.

Hmm, If you're all coming through Thame it's probably best I keep my daughter indoors that day

I could well be up for this, but I may have to pull out at the last minute if my wife's health takes a turn for the worse.

But worrying that in the list of nearby things to do hospital is top.

Thanks for your support Russ, lets see if the Guys & Gals want to come out to play before we start to get excited, there are some good lanes around here, and what better leader ?
