How can I get my cc rating reduced?

Post by Tim Cullis »

In recent years I've downsized from a 1200 Adventure to F650 twin to XT660z to a KTM 690. And I'm even buying a C90 to play on.

So you can imagine how upset I am to notice, that as a frequent poster, my forum 'rating' is set at 1200cc. This implies bigger bikes are better and clearly that's bull.

Why can't the rating be set at 1200cc for newbies, then gradually decreased with postings as the person is deemed to get more sense. Ultimately ending at a rating of zero. Or pointless? B)

Great idea Tim.
Not only a sensibility thing but far more fun on a smaller bike with the opportunity to work it harder to get the best out of it.
One of my favourite mounts is an old SP370.
I've always regarded 350-450cc to be the optimum solo ride when 70mph is the limit.
An unstressed lightweight which you can have fun on especially in the corners & very economical to-boot.
Yes you have to wring their necks on occasion but with smaller pieces of metal flying round & up & down in the engine they never seem stressed or confused.
Lightness is everything.

I mostly agree, 350CC should be the highest level achievable. Exactly which adventure cannot be done with a 350? ;)
And now, Harry, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.

Tim, for anyone else I would say that 'you need to get out more' but in your case that does not apply. :)

You are clearly having a bad day..... :S

There used to be a Karma rating, never understood it, but wasn't bothered either.
Same with the 1200cc thing
