What is meant by unsupported?
Maps not updated? I thought it was Lifetime Maps.
No aftermarket support?
No software updates?

At the end of the day the unit will still work just as it does now and even if the maps updates are stopped, which I doubt, the number of new roads you encounter are few & far between.

Hey I know people who still use the Garmin 2610 and still get around just fine even though the maps have been discontinued for years  B)

You will Still get Map and Software updates for the 660/665.The unsupported Piece of this is Actual Spare Parts for the 660/665 as Garmin UK are not getting any New Spares for these Models, When the Spares they have are used up that is it.Francis

Much the same as when my 550 went tits up, I contacted garmin support & sent of my 550 for repair and paid my fee. But instead of repairing my 550 they sent me a new 660. But as I had a subscription to lifetime maps on my 550, I phoned garmin support and they transferred my lifetime maps to my 660
