Do you use TYRE TomTom Software?? I am having issues!

Good morning!

I have installed TYRE software on my laptop and have been building my routes on this to send to my TomTom.

However, the TYRE software appears to be very slow to respond to commands and frequently, when I open up previously saved route files, stops responding... (not responding) in the top left of the browser.

The laptop I am using is an Acer Notebook thats around 6 years old now. My 'main' computer is a 27" Mac.

1) I cannot decide whether the issue is the Software OR the Acer Notebook. What is your experience of the software?

2) Someone told me that you can get some emulation software from somewhere to be able to run TYRE through Apple Mac.

The free version is at times a bit clunky but I put up with it.

Never got on with Tyre.

It could be a slow internet connection as well, that's how it loads all it's maps.

@Treadtrader - On the Motogoloco can you export the routes to TomTom Rider13?

@Ralph - I thought that so wired up to the router and still 'clunky'. (I like that descriptive of the software!!)

I use it with Garmin, but I'm told by pals it works just as well with Tomtom.

Cool, I shall do some mooching on the t'interweb and see if there are any tutorials. It certainly appears to be a little more slick than TYRE. Just like using Google Maps.

I've only loaded a route to an SD card rather than straight to the unit.
Found it to be easy even for a numpty like me. :side:

That certainly seems like an easier option but its not an option on the TTR13! I'm quite sure there is some way of doing it.

Its helpful to know though that its probably not my notebook / net book / laptop (whatever it is) and its more likely the software. The other option was to click onto Tesco Direct and buy a new computer!
