Garmin City Nav EU 2015.20 mapping update

Is available for download, but, if your laptop doesn't work with Basecamp 4.3.x then it seems to have the same effect by downloading 2015.20 map update. And you have to download the maps through Basecamp, frustrating is not the word.

And, Garmin forums seems to have disappeeared too

Garmin Express suggested the download and controlled it. It is what told me that Basecamp would have to install the new mapping.

Mmm interesting, I'm now downloading with express, I opened basecamp and it didn't notify me of an update, wasn't till I opened express I knew there was one. I will let you know how I get on installing when it finishes downloading.

Left express to it's own devices and it said your device is up to date, but when I checked the map version it said 2014.40, is that because the original map was 2014?

OK, Ive connected the montana to the mac and opened Basecamp, basecamp showed 2015.20 in the maps list but 2014.4 in the montana. So I opened map install and it gave me the option to install 2015.2 which is what I am now doing.

Well my Montana now has 2015.20, here is the sequence of events;

Opened Basecamp on Johns recommendation, said no new notifications.
Opened express and it said it update available for City Euro.
Downloaded it via express with the Montana connected and it said all maps are up to date.
Checked what map was installed on the Montana and it said 2014.40?
Opened map install and it said available maps, City Euro 2015.20.
I then removed 2014.40 using Map install and installed 2015.20.
Checked the Montana and it said 2015.20 installed, result,but it did take over 2 hours to install.
Didn't use basecamp to install it as such, just Map install.

I'm losing the will to live with my Garmin Oregon :unsure:

What's the simplest way to re-install City Navigator maps? I've never ever done it before so I know nothing about Basecamp etc.

I depends how you originally purchased city nav, was it as a download, DVD or sd card?
