Landscape Review

Post by Richard Simpson Mark II »

The latest nonsense from our beloved Government is the Landscape Review, which seeks to ban motor vehicles from unmade roads, whether in 'protected landscapes' or just everywhere.
There is a consultation going but LARA (Motoring Organisations’ Land Access and Recreation Association) has asked people not to respond to it yet.
It runs until April, and advice is been sought as to an appropriate response.

It is probably just ‘guidance’. I think saying that you didn’t realise it was a muddy track and not tarmac will be okay. You can always say you are waiting to see if Sue Gray thinks it is legal to ride it or.not. If you go with a few mates take a bottle of wine or two and have a work meeting, you’ll be fine.

It's a good job all the pressing issues once facing our nation have gone isn't it?

Thank goodness, there's no more covid, knife crime, housing poverty, energy poverty, international crisis, NHS waiting lists, etc.

It leaves our gvt free to concentrate on the important stuff.

What's really going on?

Certain people keep asking for something until they get it, that's what.

I cannot see leisure use on unsurfaced roads for motorcycles or 4x4’s being permissible in the future
I think it’s going to be verboten, in future
Maybe 5-10 years left to enjoy it
Italy has banned off-road vehicle usage already
Germany has outlawed it for years

Ah .. but the future is Electric 8-)

Then the governments of the world can ban all Electic vehicles from our diminishing trails.

Walkers, Spaniel owners, mountain rescue teams, and the landed gentry can have the peace and quiet of the countryside all to themselves. away from all that electrical noise, freeing up our beautiful land to the sound of shotguns, grouse squawking, and maids' knickers being thrown in the air .

eMTB is the future for vehicular use of trails - not motorcycles

.. for the time being.

Governments want to restrict the freedom that us lowly surfs enjoy.
2 items on tv this evening, in Wales ..
* Electric disability scooters have some trails made in some national parks.
* Snowdon `pen y park` car park to have restricted parking ... £18 for 12 hours, must be pre-booked, cameras and lifting barrier to be installed.

solution .. all walkers/climbers from England will need to come to Wales on Elec Scooters ... lol
