Surrey Council have a list of BOATS with a grid ref start, finish and map no.
So for example, Sheepwalk Lane, Abinger, grid ref start 100 503, grid ref finish 110 496, Explorer map 146.
Is there a way to find out where this is? I tried finding out from various sites but the grid references they ask for starts with 2 letters followed by 8 or 10 numbers.
Thanks

Re: Finding BOATS
You really need to know the 2 letters. See http://sewhgpgc.co.uk/os.php
Use..
http://maps.the-hug.net/
Enter the grid ref eg TQ100503
(think its TQ for this map area)

Re: Finding BOATS
Search for Sheepwalk Lane, Abinger on Bing maps (Bing is great as it allows you to view OS maps) - I found it straight away.

Re: Finding BOATS
Thanks, the TQ letters work fine. These seem ok as well;

Some roads are on Bing/Google but others aren't, eg. Lions Lane, Cranleigh. Guess that's part of the fun, finding what isn't on maps!

This is handy for Cumbria

Most of the legal lanes have been classified for sustainability etc as well.
