If you know how to do something, share it with other members. i.e How to fix a puncture...How to ship a bike to Alaska etc. The post with the most 'Thank You' votes in a month wins an ABR Hoodie.

How To - Take your bikes on a family caravaning holiday...

First you need to cut a rectangular hole in the rear of the family caravan.

This can be done with a jigsaw, sabre saw, angle grinder etc.

Next you weld up a drop down ramp.

And voila, storage inside the caravan for the bikes. ;)

I suggest clearing the project with SWMBO before embarking on it as it is difficult to reverse.

I was very close to buying one of these, the inside folds up or lifts up to the roof leaving loads of space and they've got proper rated suspension for the extra weight.

Very nice, they make good sense.

I didn't realise you could get them in Europe, the Americans have had them for years.

When I used to go to motocross there was a guy who had cut a small peace out below the rear window of his caravan to get his bike in. He just opened the window and dropped down the Small panel that doubled as a ramp. When it was closed it just looked like a standard caravan.

Yes, I think it could be done. You would have to uprate the suspension.

I have found another offering - Dethleffs Vari 580
