How "NOT" to Husky

Post by HU55KY »

Something ate my Husky!

It's a 2005 te 510 and it's got a big hole where it shouldn't have...

So I've downloaded the manual and started taking it all to bits with no previous experience beyond checking the tyre pressures and lubing a chain!

Got the plastics and tank off, battery out, exhaust off, carb off and there are scorched marks through two of the hoses...

Clutch hose disconnected, wiring loom un plugged, chain off and soaking, frame guards off and... where's the 22mm rear swingarm axle nut gone???

And why didn't the manual tell me to detach the rear shock before I tried to pull the swingarm off?

Don't tell me... it got lost in the translation!

Blimey, look at that gearbox sprocket - someone has really gone to work on that bike, mega zero maintenance!

Good luck matey (thumbs)

"Don't worry sir, they all do that!"

Seriously, good luck with it.

You will find the advice given on here (and it will be given, whether you ask or not) will be of varying quality.

However the Thedktor has rebuilt a husky 4-stroke and documented it all on this forum...so if he offers you advice, take it! He's about the best of the 'forum mechanics' that I know.

Try the cafe husky forum over in the states, it's a wealth of husky info written by some very informed people. Nige

Are you sure that's not a cooling feature for the crank?
At least there was not a load of metal bits whizzing round inside the crank case.
Did you collect up all the pieces. It may be possible to weld up.
No worries. A bit of ally plate and plastic metal and she will be right a rain.
This sort of thing happens when you wash a Husky.
The swinging arm did not drop off so why bother with the nut?
Crispy pipes. No biggy until they warm up properly and set the carb alight.
You have only had the bike two days and already broken it.
There are easier ways to change the oil.
That's clever, a crank inspection port.
Good thing it's only a small hole.

Run out of pish takes for now.
Not good matey. I fink the motor is stuffed. Maybe get some cash back for the rest of the bike. Do not buy another of the same.
