What Size Vehicle Can You Fit an Enduro Bike in?

Post by Arthur Pint Motor »

Anyone know if you can fit an enduro bike in a "Compact" Van (e.g. Ford Transit Courier/VW Caddy)? Maybe you need to drop the front wheel out?

Any chance it could fit in an estate car like my Mazda 6? Obviously it would need dismantling to some extent.

I am asking on a "one-off" basis i.e. if I bought a bike from the other end of the country and trying to work out the best way to get the beastie home.

I can get a trail bike in the back of my transit with a crew cab, needs to go in diagonal though.

To fit it in an estate car, you'll definitely need to take the front wheel, forks and maybe handlebars off and lay on side

I picked my DRZ400s up in a Ford Galaxy

Took the front wheel off and front mudguard (and mirrors) and loaded in backwards

Plenty of clearance

Courier probably easiest but a lwb hi roof connect is about the smallest without too much dismantling. Galaxy does work with front wheel out and forks on a baking tray. Seen them in the back of an astra hatch so anything is possible

Yes Herman, I bought mine from down your way from Steve

I think you'll need to do a bit more than take the front out. You may have to take quite a few bits off and lay it on it's side.

I picked up a DRZ400 in a Citreon Berlingo van.
Folded the passenger seat forward, rotated the bars backwards.
Put the bike in backwards with the rear wheel in the foot well
no problem.
