how to start a bike is starter button bust

Post by byewayrider »

Hi fellow riders..

Ive had a few off`s on the trails resulting in bust starter button switches..on electric start bikes with no kick start the easy way to start bike is to locate the starter relay near the Fuse box normaly ..there will be two thick Red [+] wires one from Battery the other leads to startor motor with a 30amp fuse..

Now grab a screw driver with insulated handle and "bridge" the two wires/terminals..a big spark happens and Vroom life erupts..

its a handy tip if your too nackered or banged up to jump start the bike...Dont try it standing in water or bogs though :woohoo:

and make sure is not in gear or facing downhill

A useful tip, can be refined with couple of bits of wire with lucar connectors and a push switch it's a little safer and can be used elswhere to test, I'm not keen on sparks and petrol outside of a combustion chamber. (thumbs)

Orrr.. if you've pliers that have a rubber/plastic handle, they are ideal for bridging the gap :)
