Somewhere above Bolzano. The chap I was with said there was accommodation up this particular road, I think it was the steepest road I’d ever ridden, there was no stopping once you’d started up it ‘til the top, when we got to the top, it was like Frankensteins castle and very locked up, but it was surrounded by row upon row upon row of apple orchard. Ended up having to go back down the steepest road and found some digs a few miles away.

late summer biking season very much coincides with wild boar season for anyone that dont know. Just in front of me there was a little 4 wheel drive with 3 blokes jammed in with their guns towing a trailer full of dogs with 2 or 3 boar on the top of that. It is probably worth considering if you like being in the sticks. Cock ups happen, and I have seen how it could myself, done a bit of shooting myself including centrefire, generally shooting in this country is far more safety conscious. not picking fault it is their country.
