Adventure Bike Rider Photo “Grab n Tag”

Post by drumbrakes »

Here's the full rules again, as shown in Post 1.

The idea is you go out for a ride, looking for the object in the previous tag.
Start a new thread for armchair players, unless you have a GoldWing, I suppose.
Mark Young wrote:How Do We Play “Grab n Tag”?

We start with a photo “Tag” and theme. In this instance it is “Your Bike With A Bridge”
To “Grab” this “Tag” you must go out on your m/cycle and reproduce a similar photo theme.
During the same ride you are expected to photograph a new theme which could be used as a new “Tag”
Then rush back here and claim the “Grab” by posting your photographs before someone else beats you to it.
The previous Tagger or a moderator must approve your “Grab” before your new “Tag” is in play.

We all love rules, here are some more…

1) “Grab” and “Tag” photos must be taken during the same ride!
2) No Stock Photos!
3) Your Motorcycle or part of it must be in both your Photos.
4) Your Motorcycle must have reached the location under its own power.
5) The “Grab” must be verified by the previous “Tagger”, forum Moderator or Me, before a new “Tag” is in play.
6) Post up both photos “Grab” and “Tag” at the same time.
7) You must specify the Theme for your new “Tag”
8) You cannot "Grab" your own "Tag" on the same day it was taken.
9) All Themes must be realistic, possible, obtainable and not confined to any specific geographical location or your “grab n tag” will both be void!
example: “Your bike being ridden by the Dalai Lama in India” is not a good Tag.. (bonus points though, for anyone getting a photo of that!)
example: “Your bike and a world war two monument” would be achievable by most.

Let’s get started then…

Theme : Your bike with a bridge.

Yes,we know what the rules are. That's why it took almost 5 years to get to page 6!
If you want your "tag" to be the winning one it needs to be as near to your house as possible so you get your results in first, where's the fun in that?

If you're like me and need something to aim for when you go out for a run try this.

6 pages? We've only had about 8 entries!
All the rest is confusion about the rules.

Yeh, the rules are waaaay to restrictive. It's ok if you've got nothing else to do and still have some energy at the end of a long ride. Also it pretty much rules out a long trip unless you take a laptop or something and are fully networked (or have a youngster with you  ). I'm still working my way through the photos I took in Spain in August!

It needs to be something like ADVriders's photo association game: -
( http://advrider.com/index.php?threads/a ... me.909364/ )
something in your photo must relate to something in the previous photo. It's very popular, easy and has great photos.

Just my thoughts anyway... ;)

Adventure Bike Rider Photo “Grab n Tag”

Post by drumbrakes »

Is it that tricky?
I guess 8 entries in 5 years means most people must think it is.

I treated this game as an answer to the age old question of "Where shall I ride today?". It takes me to places I would not otherwise go.

I take my mobile phone with me and I use the built in camera. I post them up when I get home.
If you are lucky enough to have a "Smart Phone" you can post it up directly, either during your ride, or once you get home.
There's no particular rush to do it quickly at this rate.

The Tag-O-Rama threads (Which I think is the same game with a sillier name) on AdvRider have hundreds of successful entries and you do need to be quick or somebody else will get there first.
Maybe it's just the weather here for the last few months means we aren't getting out that much?

I like the sound of this. I'll see what I can do next time I'm out.
Just along for the ride.
