Not many folks know that as you enter over the bridge to the cafe there is a lovely sign posted quiet lane left from the farm towards Hartington. It has full motor vehicle rights but I would n't take my car along.

I’m aware of it, but there’s a few too many gates for my liking and if you use it you can’t impress people with your exhaust note through the tunnel.
They don’t like you using the term ‘cafe’, it’s signed as a ‘Tearooms’, cafe suggests you can obtain substantial food there. (Which you can’t, other than a tea cake or crumpet)
I remember one year turning up here on Boxing Day, the lady came out of the cottage and put the kettle on for me, top lass. I’ve also turned up on New Years Day to find a meeting of vintage British motorcycles.

The only picture I could find of the tunnel, I’m sure I have more.

We took a six mile walk this afternoon to Aberfoyle, Dukes Pass (The Trossachs) with the collie dog.

Greetings,

Whilst out today, testing the Pampera, I had chance to revisit a memorial stone which is seldom noticed or looked at by folk scurrying past even on this narrow lane.

I am also attaching a link to a website which explains the story and which has far superior pictures then I could take. It also shows the location;

Ps Sorry, forgot to mention that 'Back Lane', shown on the map between Jenkins Chapel and Blue Boar Farm is not open for traffic, it has been used on the Edinburgh Trial by special licence.

Nice one Phil. How did you fit the drums and a hammond organ on the back? They did well to hang on those guys.
