My girlfriend, Alison, is the mother of 16 year old triplets who live their life online. Sometimes I really feel like doing something like this!

However, when I was 18 or so, I went with my mates to see Twisted Sister in Nottingham… rather than buying my mum a birthday present… The next day my dad threw my motorcycle helmet at my stereo… :pinch: I never forgot anyones birthday after that!

Next time we see that kids face it'll be on the evening news saying he's gone postal and shot a dozen people and if my son spoke to me like that he'd be the next thing going under the mower (thumbs)

My son is bordering on being as obsessed with bloody X-Box games but at least he works full time when he's not at college. He was so fed up with the fact that the tv in the room at the hotel we use where we're working wouldn't let him plug his X-Box in that he spent an hour finding out how to revert the tv to factory settings and he's now got a much wider range of tv channels plus he can play games on it.

lol yes I've felt like doing that a time or two. However we do live in the middle of know where and it allows them to talk to their mates when they at home.
Also is it any worse than facebook and being on this forum?

The main thing for me it if you've got a job and are earning your own way what you do in your own time is up to you.
My oldest son is at university doing biology and my youngest has just started doing engineering at Kendal collage so I can't really ask more of them than to work hard at that, the rest of the time they seem to spend on computer games. I just wish they'd get out and socialise more.

And don't forget what some people think of us anti social motorcyclists!

I recently had a conversation with a 13 year old who could not grasp at all how we could live years ago...totally puzzled by how many things did not exist and how it was physically possible to stay alive without them.

No sky or cable tv
No x boxes or play stations.
No mobile phones
No computers
No internet
No microwaves.
No juicers
No central locking on a car.
No recorded movies.
No fast food delivery.
No Ryanair

Ah, didums having a little paddy then. This video should to be shown to a psychiatrist
as this you man seems to need treatment. He certainly needs to grow up and act his age.

Or. Pack his clothes, chuck all his crap out of the house and then chuck him out.
If he thinks he is big enough to gob of like that at his dad, then he is old enough to go make his own way in the world. See how he gets on gobbing off at other people that way. Should last about 2 minutes before he gets a right good stomping. He won't be so gobby after that's for sure.

Using technology as part of relaxing (playing games, using forums, chat rooms etc), is fine. But once it takes over normal social behaviours, it's a serious problem. Like most addictions.

My ex partner became an gaming addict. He worked in IT and then spent every night on the computer too. He hated being outside (he'd run away from a fly!). After I caught him going on dating sites and discovered he'd actually met a few that was the end of our 9 year relationship.

Last night, Alison and I showed this video to the triplets…

One of them, we'll call him Jacob, has expressed several times that he wants to work in the gaming industry because he's really good at gaming and loves it… We were all looking at him when the lad on the video said the same thing! :woohoo:
