Old Bikers Never Die
It struck me that the older bikers out there are missing out.
I for one want to ride until I am 100 at least, but I am already knackered, so another r50 odd years will probably see that off.
Inspired by a videl here on ADR Forum
I have started a facebook page http://www.facebook.com/#!/event.php?ei ... 8468326763
To get any older ex-riders out there out on pillions for the day.
April 1st 2012 is a Sunday, start at Rivington Barn (well know biker meet), via Manchester to the Cat & Fiddle, Buxton for a brew, and then down through to Matlock Bath, (Another great biker meet).
RIDERS (with bikes and pillion space)
Old bikers, Mums or Dads, Grand Dads/mums, Uncles/Aunts, friends or neighbours.
I will do a press release in December ( great Xmas pressy).
No fees, no rewards, just satisfaction that you put something back.

... but they're hard on tyres.
Actually that sounds like a great idea. Being a southern shandy drinker I've never been to Rivington Barn and all I know about it comes from the shock horror "police arrest 150 innocent bikers" revelations in MCN. Hopefully that's just journos never letting the truth get in the way of a good story because otherwise the pillions could get more of an experience than they imagined!
Many years ago I did manage to convince my mother she should come out on the pillion of one of my bikes. She kept encouraging me to go faster until eventually we hit 100mph :woohoo: She dined out on "I've been at 100mph on a motorcyle" for many years.
I've matured since then  (can't afford the fuel anyway!)

With stupid remarks like that. That's made my mind up not to bother with this site anymore...

Don't let the fly comments of a few people put you off, I'm sure there was nothing malicious intended.
BTW, a bit boring I know, but here goes anyway; make sure that the riders are insured for pillions, it could be one of those things that could get overlooked.
I get asked every year on renewal, and now the kids have grown up I've only had a pillion once or twice in as many years,.
