ULEZ Expansion to M25 August 2023

Post by redbikejohn »

Yep just realised this has crept up on me. I had a quick look to make sure my T700 was OK for a trip into London next week (it is) but while doing that a found out the ulez zone is due to expand this August and Heathrow will be included. So while i mostly use the bike for work I do use the car on occasions...... which means paying 12.50 a day or twice if working a night shift or buying a new car. Other option I get a new job. Only two people on my shift have euro 6 cars. Three of us now considering get new jobs elsewhere (I've already been for some interviews). Makes a mockery when planes are taking off just outside?!

A mockery indeed but that's politics for you and 'polical needs must'

sorry to be so uninformed, but for myself as someone who may travel from Wales to Dover via the M25 to catch the boat once a year perhaps on an old bike will now have to pay £12.50?

Put your reg into this website and it will tell you if you have to pay a charge

I believe this is the expanded ULEZ zone so a journey on the M25 will not be charged

I just checked and both my car and my bike satisfy the criteria for low emissions and no charge, I hate London though and have been there maybe 5 times in my life.

So can someone explain why my car tax is £30 but my Bike Tax is £120..FFS
Its a trick............get an Axe

Our manager has a small small car. Does not pay road tax due to low emissions.....BUT he checked his reg and its non compliant?! Only bought it a year ago (secondhand) so not happy.

My 2011 burgman 400 scoot meets the ULEZ and also the congestion charge, but again I have no wish to drive into London----it will become a ghost city soon as it contributes no real wealth to this country.

I think the irony is that only a few years ago there was a big push to get drivers into diesel vehicles but now a lot of older diesel vehicles won't be compliant.
