All this stuff in the media about cyclists being injured being injured by car drivers opening car doors and not seeing them, such that drivers are advised to open their door left handed whilst looking over shoulder for cyclists is an irrelevance really isn't it? As the cyclists will now have to extend the courtesy extended to them, a passing distance of 1.5m (5 foot), to motorists in parked cars, then surely as no car has a door 5 foot wide then surely no cyclist should be involved in a collision with a car door as they should easily miss any car door by about 2 feet. Or am I missing something?
