Top Gear - good tribute to Eddie Kidd

Post by Scott_rider »

Top Gear did a very good tribute to Eddie Kidd on their programme of 14/11/21 8-) . Brought a tear to my eye :( .
Quite a bit of bike action in it as well. It's well worth a watch on iplayer - series 31, episode 1.

It was excellent.
And now, Harry, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.

Crikey. Possibly the best thing Top Gear has ever done. Of any generation
Real tears in my eyes when the bikes road past on the road when Eddie was in the Rolls Royce
You definitely saw the life in his eyes at that point
Incredibly moving film

I catched-up with it on i-player, thanks to reading this thread πŸ‘. Best thing Top Gear has done in a long while, not that I watch it much nowadays. I had no idea Eddie jumped CCM's! Great, but sad, stuff.

Definitely one to watch - I kind of knew what it was about but was very moved.

Joyous, and sad....

I met him at an event about 10 years ago. It brought a lump to my throat and a tear to my eye seeing him in his wheelchair but he never lost his sense of humour.

Thanks for highlighting this show. I'll watch it on the iPlayer.

Great tribute, can't get iPlayer here in France so stayed up late last night and watched the bbc1 repeat at 1am. our time. As others have said, very moving.

My Wife was talking to a work colleague yesterday who many years ago was part of an all female stunt riding team and used to ride the wall of death. She was reminiscing what a funny 'lad' Eddie Kidd was back then and how he lit up a room when he walked in, she was actually quite emotional talking about it.

I braved Jimi Saville (who knew at the time) to get Eddie Kidds autograph at a Jim L fix it. Thankfully all I got waved in my face from that pervert c*nt was a face full of cigar smoke. I had that autograph for years but sadly lost now. EK was a god in the early 80's
